Listed by meta score. Usage is the share of teams that brought the Pokémon.
Sun offense won the Louisville Regional
Joseph Ugarte won the Louisville Regional at 15-2 with Mega Charizard Y, Venusaur and Garchomp. It is his second Reg M-C regional title. He won the Baltimore Regional on 20 September at the same 15-2 record with a sand team that shared no Pokémon with this one.
1010 Masters decklists. The top three all brought Mega Charizard Y and Venusaur. Across the full top 16, Mega Charizard Y and Venusaur each appear 6 times, Garchomp 6, Archaludon 5 and Sneasler 8.
Mega Charizard Y was already rising before Louisville
Louisville is 1010 of the 2695 teams on this board, so a result driven only by that one event would look the same as a real trend. Splitting online play either side of the regional separates the two.

All four risers were already climbing in online play in the ten days before the regional, and all four climbed again in the three days after it. The last column covers 352 teams, a smaller sample than the others, so read it as direction rather than a settled figure.

Pokémon on at least 60 teams this week. Week 5 board: 23 September to 6 October. Week 6 board: 1 to 14 October.
Why the lower tiers moved so much this week
The board holds 2695 teams, down from 3449 last week. The Baltimore, Frankfurt and Brisbane Regionals all passed out of the 14 day window and only Louisville came in, so the sample is smaller and fewer Pokémon clear the ranking thresholds.

A tier lost seven places and D tier gained five on a board that is 754 teams smaller. Most single tier moves below A this week are that change in sample, not a change in play, so the tier change table below lists only the moves with a real number of teams behind them.

Move usage from October tournament sets. Venusaur runs Chlorophyll on every recorded set, so it is being played for the sun rather than as a Trick Room attacker. Garchomp is the exception to the rule that everything carries Protect, at 29.5%, because 68% of them hold a Choice Scarf.
The most successful full teams on the board. The sun team on 29 teams is the best supported of these, and it is the shell that won Louisville.
